The Jackson Family and their Influence on Holmes Chapel
Researcher: John Clowes
In 1911 George Fenton Jackson along with his partner, J T Walker, purchased the works on Macclesfield Road and developed a wallpaper manufacturing company. Three generations of the Jackson family ran the works and not only provided employment in the village but also built houses for their employees and donated and established the Victoria Social Club. The story of how the family came to establish the business and the impact on Holmes Chapel will be recorded.
